Should You Buy a New 3D Blu-Ray Player?

f you've been shopping around for a new Blu-ray player recently then you probably noticed that many of them come with the new 3D-compatibility. But, is it worth buying a 3D Blu-ray player right now with this fresh new technology or is it better to wait?
If you already own a 3D television then it's pretty safe to go ahead and buy a compatible blu-ray player right away. They aren't priced much higher than standard players right now and they greatly increase the amount of content available for you to watch.
The 3D technology is still growing, so there aren't too many shows and movies available to take home in that format yet - but they are definitely on the way with more added every day. Having a 3D Blu-ray player at home will mean you can take advantage of the movies that have already been released, even if it's still a small number.
Before making a buying decision it might help to take a look at which shows and movies are available right now to see whether any of them match your interests. Again, the number of programs available is still growing, which means it's probably still worth buying a 3D player as an investment for the future.
However, if you don't already own a 3D television then you might look at it a little differently, because it is still an early technology and buying into anything early usually means that you're going to pay a higher price right out of the gate. IN a few years the compatible players (and movie discs) are likely to decrease in price. So if you can wait awhile it will certainly save you some money.
And if you don't have a 3DTV already, you don't just need a new television. You also need the glasses for every viewer that's watching and maybe a few extras for when you have guests over. It can add up to a lot of money really quickly.
All that said, the blu-ray players themselves are reasonably affordable right now in comparison to similar products on the market. You can certainly purchase a 3D blu-ray player without having the expensive television set right now and still be able to watch movies and stream media, etc., and then when you do upgrade your TV you can take advantage of the compatibility.
Starting with the blu-ray player before the television set might actually even be a better idea. The technology is evolving almost by the day and there are some companies working on creating a 3DTV that works without having to wear the special glasses. That upgrade is probably still pretty far off, but it seems they are determined to figure it out and get it released.
